This unique summer experience in not just a fun
summer opportunity but provides a valuable
learning experience for children
of all ages. Enroll your child in this program and know that
they are in a safe, nurturing environment, being guided and
inspired by positive role models and mentors,
and will complete their summer experience with a better understanding
of themselves and the world around them!
Youth today are faced with many challenges to
growing up healthy and drug-free. Enroll your child in our
Summer Prevention Program and give them valuable life skills. Our
age-appropriate programs build self-esteem, enhance social
skills, and enrich creative expression
while addressing the factors that put all children at risk for
alcohol, drug abuse and violence.

MORNING GLORIES 
for ages 4 -
8. (NEW 2006 EXTENDED HOURS for working parents) .
Enroll your child in 1
- 3 weeks beginning in July 2rd, 2007 and ending on
July 20th
with our Finale celebration. (Choose one, two or three weeks)
Program Hours: 9:00 am - 1:00pm Before Care: 8am - 9am or After
Care: 1:00 - 5:00
2007 Fees: Program Cost is $150/week per child & $25 Registration Fee
Before and After Care Program Cost is $7/hour Per child
This program utilizes daily puppet shows
from the "Friends from Sunshine Center". Prevention-focused
lessons include: Expressing Feelings in a healthy
way, Decision Making Skills, Friendships, Stranger Awareness,
and more
Special Guests enhance the prevention theme and enrich
cultural understanding: Guests include: African storytelling, Tipi
Ted & the Native American Museum, The Suffolk County
K9 Patrol, Understanding the Dangers of Drugs through
Magic
Program also includes playtime in our
unique Multi-cultural Village, Snack & Lunch Time, Arts & Crafts Time.
Program also includes art & recreation time, snack &
lunchtime, and playtime in our “Multi-cultural Village”
& Playground.

KREATIVE DAHLIAS 
For
ages 9 - 13 Choice
of 1 - 3 weeks
(Beginning July 23rd through August 10, 2007)
2007 Fees: Program Cost is $200/week per child plus $25 registration fee
Before Care (8am - 9am) After Care (3 - 5pm) - Cost is $7/hour Per child
Youth participate in creative workshops,
discussion groups, and prevention-focused activities. Prevention-focused activities educate the children in the
areas of Healthy Friendships, Dealing with Peer Pressure, Making Good Decisions,
Conflict Resolution & Anger Management, and Choices associated with Alcohol & Drug
use/abuse.
Unique Creative Workshops are offered each
week and may include: Horsecare/riding
skills at the Olde Towne Equestrian Center, Project Adventure
Team Activities, Creativity with Art, Do
Dance Don't Do Drugs with Paul Rodriquez, Theater/Role-Play, Self Defense with Sensi
Chuck and others.
Participants work towards a "Grand Finale" presentation
where they will perform to the family, friends, and community supporters
on the final day of the program. Our special Grand Finale
Celebration 2006 will be held on August 10th, 1:00 and is open to the
community. This is an excellent opportunity to see our participants
perform an amazing show, meet our supporters, and tour the center. Please

STEP (Summer
Teen Enrichment Program) 
for ages
14 and up (2 week program in August)
Week One
- August 13 -17 Creative Arts
Program
Week
Two - August 20 - August 24 Travel Camp
Program Fees: $430 per teen (2-week program) plus $25 registration fee (No additional costs for trips)
Before and Aftecare available for addtional cost
This program, designed by Teens
them selves, keeps them off the streets and in positive environments. Provide
your teen a fun summer opportunity that
also offers a valuable learning experience.
Week One the teens are involved in daily activities,
creative workshops, discussion groups and
team-building activities. E.g. Positive graffiti, creative arts
projects, team games, basketball, volleyball, water
games and more. Prevention-focused activities include special
guest speakers, group activities, discussion
groups addressing topics such as alcohol
and drug use/abuse, pressures of adolescence, suicide and depression,
self esteem.
Week Two Travel Camp includes Educational Field trips (that
raise awareness and understanding to many of the challenges facing
our youth) and may include: Tour of probation department
and the Cohalen Court Complex, A visit to an Adolescent Treatment
Facility and hear teens real-life struggles dealing with drugs
and alcohol, Life in the Riverhead Jail.
And our Fun Field trips which may include:Sports
Plus, Castle Golf, NYC show and more
* We also offer Teen Volunteer Opportunities
during the other weeks of the summer. Early application
is required to participate.
