	Utilizing Puppetry as a Tool in Prevention Puppetry is an effective tool for teaching about sensitive topics. For many years puppets are utilized as a means of self _expression, creative _expression and communication.Puppetry can teach and persuade. Puppets are being utilized all over the world to teach about drugs and alcohol, violence and other sensitive matters. Puppetry can be utilized with people of all ages. Children can identify with puppets in a unique way.



	Puppet research in India confirms that puppet shows are among the most effective means of communicating health issues. Because they are characters, not people, puppets are the ideal medium for discussing sensitive issues.

	Puppets create a world in which we recognize ourselves and identify with the characters. (McIntyre, 1998)






	The "Friends from Sunshine Center" - a set of beautifully designed and hand-crafted multi-cultural puppets who share thier triumps and struggles with children.


	Sunshine utilizes the Promoting Peace Preschool Curricula in all Outreach to PreK - K.
